I climbed Mt. Fuji 5 weeks pregnant! :)

What a great story I have for our little baby! :) We have pictures, tons of them from our weekend in Tokyo.. but I just have not gotten around to uploading them yet. Something else has totally sidetracked my brain! Can you even believe that Nate and I will be having a baby? We are the people that no one expected to have a baby. I mean, logically- it only makes sense right? We have been married over 6 years- I have a Masters- he is doing great in his career.. But all in all, who cares about the next step?? We are very happy. In a great state of shock.. YES!!! On Thursday we will be six weeks a long! It is so hard not to worry.. and for those of you that know me, you know that I am a HUGE worrywort.. but I am giving this to God and praying over our baby all day everday! Please join in with us on that!! It is funny how it happened:

I was on the phone with a friend the morning we got back from Tokyo.. and I was telling her about Fuji and everything since she is going this weekend. I began to explain to her this story: On our way home from Tokyo, I was nautious like CRAZY! I got sick on the bus and threw up all over my seat! :) My sweet husband cleaned it all up. She then joked with me about being pregnant! I didnt think so... but I thought- eh, Ill take a test! Mind you, for anyone that knows me.. I am VERY irregular.. so taking a test- just comes natural for me! Well when the test came up POSITIVE VERY BRIGHTLY.. I had to go wake Nate up. I was kinda freaking. So 5 home tests later... and one confirmation from the doctor.. WE ARE PREGNANT..

But as we look back on the few weeks past.. we see so many signs that we were not reading into being pregnant. A little over a week ago, Nate was popping my back and I just complained about my chest hurting so bad.. but in all honesty, we didnt think anything of it. The nautious feeling the days before we found out, we just thought it was from teh high altitude of Fuji and then being carsick.. And it is funny because the night before I found out.. we were sitting here at home and he asked me "why have you started eating so much more?" which it isnt muuuch more- but anyone that kinows me.. knows that I limit myself.. and I seemed to be snacking more!!!

We cant believe it!! We are so happy.. it is becoming more real as the hours go by. I can not wait until the first ultrasound! I thnk it is great that I climbed Fuji.. preggo too! THANK GOD that I wasnt sick going up and down the mountain! :) So, that is our story-- Ill keep you posted!

Fakuara, Japan

... was totally beautiful. I am constantly at a loss for words by how much that am enjoying Japan. It seems that each time we go camping somewhere, we love it even more than the last time! :) Abbey and Ry did not go with us this time, but they want to go back. This was a nice, quiet time with just my small family. We had a great time. The first day we got there, we set up camp and enjoyed our time there at the beach. We camped right on the beach. We were at the Sea of Japan. I took about 40 pictures in that first afternoon.. :) IT was sooo pretty. Of course, my pictures do it no justice AT ALL! That evening, we climbed up the cliff to watch the sunset. Nate took a picture of Dezi and I... and I didnt like how I looked. Now, when Britt was here, she was constantly cropping pictures- so I wanted to figure out how to do it. Dezi looked cute, so I wanted to crop me out! (for those of you that do not know-Dezi really is our child- therefore, you will see many pictures of her.. and also hear me talk about her as if she really is a person)...

Photobucket

Photobucket

I searched and searched how to do this... and then I found the button: FORMAT! So, I said 'ok.' HOLY COW!!! I deleted all of my cute pictures from our first day. I was heartbroken. We took about four pictures and then called it a night with the pictures. We were going to take more when the sun was out the next day. The next morning we got up with the birds- dont you know that the sun rises around 4am around here... but it was okay. I slept all night listening to the ocean.. and I was ready to get up and enjoy the pure beauty!! :) We got up and cooked bacon and eggs.. and enjoyed a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I looked out toward the ocean and there was a seagull sitting on top of a rock. I took a perfect picture with the seagull and the ocean.. then.... ILL BE DANG! My camara quit working. My screen stopped working and was just bright. I bought this camara in December. I was so upset. This is just to pretty of a place not to take pictures! :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Well the camara kept flashing and snapping pictures, so I just kept takin them.. even thought I couldnt see what I was taking! :) Lo and behold-- there were pictures when I got home. Some suck, but we have pictures! :) That day we chose to get in the car and drive... we went to all kinds of places. We went to Juniko Lake and hiked for a while.. kinda preparing ourselves for Friday's hike on Fuji! (Hah.. right) It was really pretty there, the beautiful scenic views we had. Of course, Dezi enjoyed it too.

We left there and stopped at WeSpA! It is an onsen resort. (We actually ended up at that onsen later in the evening).... it had a really large hill that had a walkway all the way to the top! It was marked off where you couldnt actually go to the top anymore! Once we left there we stopped at this neat place I saw.. and Ill be!! They had a cool swimming area in the ocean.. with slides! So cool!!! :) So pretty!

Photobucket

We were driving along and saw a sign that said, OUR TOWN'S "PARK IN THE WOODS" Well.. of course we had to stop! It was so school. Japanese parks are sooo fun though. I am a grown adult, but I always have fun at them. Nate had fun too! Dezi too, we all know she loves to go down slides! :) The parks on base are off limits to dogs, which I think is unfair- because my girl looooves slides! :) Anyways.. when we left there, we headed back to our campground.. we had been out and about for about six hours at this point.

We got back and made sandwiches for lunch and headed out for some snorkling! It was a lot of fun. By the time we finished with that.. we were ready to get clean. The water on the West side of Japan is the clearest I have seen in Japan yet! It was great. Nevertheless, it was salt water though- and I hadnt washed my hair that morning, and if you know me.. you know that is a NO NO! So, we had to get cleaned. We headed back to WeSpA to use the onsen!! :) The onsen water was brown!!! :) I kinda freaked at first.. but it was nice.. It had minerals. I sat in the onsen outside for the longest.. the wind blowing... and the ocean- right there.. imagINE.. Mom, Britt-- imagine!!! :)

Then we came home and enjoyed dinner.. well back to our campground. The next morning we got up and packed our stuff and headed out. It took us four hours to get there and four hours to get back! We had to be back by 1pm because Nathan had an appointment for a tattoo. We made it back in the nick of time! I took care of getting some munchies for our trip to Fuji, which we leave in the morning.. then we took Ab and Wade to dinner.. they are keeping DeziPoo for us while we are gone. So, we leave bright and early in the morninga nd heading to Fuji.

Photobucket

We are tired.. we are thinking about cancelling our Hokodate trip for now and just relaxing! We shall see! Next time you hear from me, we will have climbed Mt. Fuji!! Pray for us!

Trip 1 for Vacation!

We are leaving for our trip to Fukaura, Japan. We will only be gone for three days. We are taking advantage of his 2 weeks leave- but we have had to plan it around our Mt. Fuji trip. Dezi is going with us on this trip! It is suppose to be very nice. We are set.. ready to go. We have stuff for snorkling too! The water is suppose to be very clear. I look foward to sharing pictures about this trip. The day after we get back, we leave for Tokyo- to go to Mt. Fuji. We will be gone for four days. Then the day after we get back from there, we take a train up north to Hokodate. Dezi will not be with us for Mt. Fuji or Hakodate. We are taking advantage of Nate's leave- and doing what we can... because when mid-August gets here.. I should be preparing for school! Yay.. God has blessed me!!

So, for now, we are out. I will eventually finish up mom and Britts time here.. but I also have pictures from these mini-vacations! We have plans for Spring Break next year to go to Okinawa.. and next summer we are going to go somewhere outside of Japan! :) December we will be in Texas!!! Anywho! Have a great week!

Here is a picture from google images of where we are headed:

Pedicures, Onsen, Shopping

So the ladies and I went out and got nice pedi's... we just spent that day kinda like a girl day.. then we went shopping! :) These are the finished product of our feet:

Photobucket

For our shopping for this day we just walked the streets of Misawa.. It felt pretty good outside. We had a lot of fun. We actually bought quite a bit too! :) Fun times with the ladies. But it is good because we are all so frugal, well and Britt is preparing for her wedding.. lol- so we always look for cheaper things! :) We are the bargain buyers!

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

And wouldnt you iknow.. Britt found a wedding dress in Japan! :) LoL- really, she has one!

Photobucket

We also played American Idol Wii several times.. it is always a great time! Nate enjoys it a ton!! You can see Miss AttidueDezi... she was tired of all the noise! :)

Photobucket Photobucket

THEN.The.ALL.TIME.FAVORITE: we went to the onsen. This was Britt, mom, and Nate's first time. They were so nervous!!! For non-drinkers (mom and Britt) this picture is so funny.. because mom was so nervous! Britt just had to get in the picture! So, we along with the Wade's headed off base to one of the closest Onsens around. Ab and I had been there before and hardly anyone was there.. we were just hopin and praying no Americans would be there... Oh, an onsen- for those that dont knhow.. It is a PUBLIC BATH!!! :) But holy crap- we walk into the onsen area, after we paid.. and it was FULL.. FULL... FULL... I then began wishing that Ihad taken one of those shots! We had a hard time doing the job! It was bad.. :)

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

But then it was over. :) We had to take after pictures of the boys and girls... All in all, we had a great time Of course.. we always have a GREAT time with mom and Britt.. and of course, you add the Wades to our mix.. and we have an AWESOMEr time! :)

Japan Beaches, Seagull Poop, and Fish Market

We took advantage of a beautiful day that we were having during the first few days that mom and Britt were here. It was my last day of work and as soon as I was checked out by my principal, we were on our way. We headed to Hachinohe (spelling..:)) to go to Tanashache Seaside... when we got there it was SOOO windy! We didnt stay too long! It was crazy. But nevertheless, it was sooo beautiful!

Photobucket

I just looove this picture below! It is just me and my little family!! Dezi loved the little lookout squares.. it was soo cute!

Photobucket

Of course, I had to introduce mom and Britt to Japanese icecream! It is soooo much better than American! :) This wasnt a GREAT idea.. just talk to them about how many times we had to stop for ice cream. Hence the reason mom has been hitting up the gym everyday since getting back to work, i have been back to eating right and working out.. and sister.. you kjnow can do what she wants! :)

Photobucket

On the way to the beach we saw Seagull Island, which I had been told about by several other teachers... We could not figure out how exactly to get there. Lucky for me, my cutie figured it out! Can I just tell you.. I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER seen so many seagulls!!

Photobucket

No lie! As soon, I MEAN AS SOON, as I stepped out of the car- I was pooped on.. I was grossed out! Dezi was in heaven.. but Nate kept her on a leash so she wouldnt chase those darn seagulls... We didnt realize until coming back down form the island that there were umbrellas that we could have used to protect us when going up. This was probably one of the most disgusting things I have ever put myself in... and if you know me- you know that I am certainly NOT girly! I was just chilled to my bones with how gross it was though! :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Mom and Britt were introduced to washing their hands before entering the temple area.. we skipped the whole washing out your mouth though! OH MY! Can you imagine?! Seagull poop-- in your mouth! UGH! Of course, I have to give you a picture of my heart.. he was waiting at the bottom with Dezi for us!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then we took mom and Britt to the fish market! :) I love the markets around here.. ALL of them! I think they enjoyed looking here.. It was unique! And of course, Nater- he will try anything! :)

Doggy Show

Photobucket

Dezi competed in a Dog Show on base.. my dog is awesome! She does like every trick in the book- plus some! She is the love of so many of our lives.. especially ours! But she is truly just like a grandchild to our parents.. and special to everyone in our family... Dezi is awesome. I love my dog!! Plus, she obeys sooo well! It was very nice having her here when Nate was gone!!!

Photobucket

This was one of the first nights after mom and Britt got here.. Remember Nate only arrived 2 days before they did.. so this was a very enjoyable meal for him! :) He is so darn cute!

One of the days during the second week mom and BT where here, we navigated to Shimoda to hit up some markets and the mall. Most of the time I just pay the 350Y and take the toll- but since I had them with me, I chose to navigate the backroads.. we had a lot of fun. We found more markets and some shrines! Of course we stopped to take pictures. We only took over 700ish pictures while they were here! :)

With them here, we navigated to SOOOOO many places! It was awesome because we would just drive and drive and stop at interesting places!! :) What a great time we had.. but it went WAY to fast!!!

Mom and Britt's Arrival to Japan

Photobucket

Mom and Brittany arrived in Japan on June 8, for a month! We had a fun-filled month with one another. There will be several blogs posted about their trip! When they got here, the first full day after they were here we went to the nearest beach to us. It is only about a 10 minute drive. We went to Miss Veedol beach and had a good time. We found a ton of seaglass and seashells for BT to take home.. of course she had to share with mama!

For dinner we had sushi. They did not care for it, to say the least! It made me very sad.. :) But at least they tried. Enjoys these pictures ... Will post again soon!
